The week that was: Spring is coming!

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is feeling refreshed this weekend and gearing up for another week. There’s a lot going on for me this week. I’ve got a work conference that is in town but will keep me very busy and away from Tucker for a day or so. It’s also my birthday next Saturday. Woo woo!

We did our taxes yesterday and I still remain annoyed that we can’t claim Tucker as a dependent. What gives with that? In other news, while it snowed here on Friday, we’re expecting a rapid warm up this week. Seventies are in the forecast. Can I get a helllll yeah?!?

Here are some things that caught my eye this week:

Yesterday Was Weird: *Warning Warning Warning*. If you are reading my blog post somewhere in public, do not click on this link. You will be reduced to tears instantly. Read it in private. Give yourself some time to get through it and some time to cry.  This beautifully written essay from John Pointer recounts his dog Benny’s final days battling cancer from the dog’s point of view. I wish I could write as well as he does. I forever will remember the line, “Don’t worry I gotcha buddy.”

Proposed Law Would Mean Mandatory Jail Time For Killing a Police Dog: This proposed bill in Ohio mandate 9–36 months in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 for anyone who takes the life of a police animal on duty, or if the offender is aware that the animal is an officer. The money would help to cover the costs of obtaining and training a new police dog or horse.

Have a great week!

  1. Tucker is adorable! I feel the same about my dog, I hate to be away from her for too long. I live in Arizona now where it is already warm, but I am originally from the Buffalo, New York area and I remember waiting for spring to come. I also remember my dog absolutely loving the snow! Why is that I wonder??
